Ovens
CHOOSING THE RIGHT APPLIANCE
SINGLE OVENS
Single ovens have one large cooking capacity with 64 liters as standard, some can be larger. Single ovens come as a standard 60cm x 60cm fit. So, if you currently have a standard single oven, any standard single oven will fit into the space.
COMPACT OVENS
Compact ovens are the same width as standard single ovens but have a smaller height of 45cm.
Worth noting: if your oven is under a gas hob, there is a chance that the pipework from the gas hob may impede and not allow the oven to fit back into the space. This is relatively common as modern-day ovens are built with larger cavities than their older counterparts. It can be solved by having the pipework to the hob changed by a qualified gas engineer.

Double ovens
Like single ovens, the widths and depth of all models will be the same, or very similar across all models. (We still recommend checking these measurements before purchasing a new one). The heights however will vary depending upon the type of double oven you are buying.
Built-in double ovens
Built-in double ovens are installed at eye level. Their heights will measure somewhere around 90cm.
Built under double ovens
Built under double ovens are installed below a kitchen worktop, their hights will measure somewhere around 70cm
Worth noting:
If your built under oven is under a gas hob, there is a chance that the pipework from the gas hob may impede and not allow the oven to fit back into the space. This is relatively common as modern-day ovens are built with larger cavities than their older counterparts. It can be solved by having the pipework to the hob changed by a qualified gas engineer.
MEASURING FOR YOUR NEW APPLIANCE
You need to measure the space in which your oven will be installed
Measure the Height of the space
Measure the Width of the space
Ensure that your oven will fit. It should be nice and snug, so not too much extra room above and below. (Unless you are doing this deliberately to create more shelf space for example)
Measure the Depth of the space
be wary of obstructions such as pipework or electrical sockets. If these are present the depth should be measured from these rather than the back wall. Allow for a little extra room for wiring.
Compare your measurements with those listed on the oven product page. Labelled (h), (w), (d).
The product measurements need to be smaller than the measurements you have taken of the relevant space (not by too much).
